About this Project

Client:

EBCC Sp. z o.o. European Brakes and Chassis Components with headquarters in Wrocław at ul. Bystrzycka 89.

European Brakes and Chassis Components is a leading manufacturer of safety components for the automotive sector. They have extensive experience in gravity casting, aluminium machining and disc brake production. Their components are used by many renowned brands, including Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Daimler, Ford, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Skoda, Seat, Toyota and Volkswagen.

Solution:

Design, construction and implementation of a content publication management system enabling enabling images, videos and any other information to be broadcasted on industrial monitors located in production halls.

The system’s main feature is to display content in various formats such as MS Office files, images (JPEG / PNG / BMP), movies (YouTube and MPGE4) and text messages (plain-text).

Software and technology:

  • MVC + Kendo UI;
  • environment: Windows Server & IIS (.NET 4.5);
  • database environment: SQL 2005 or higher;
  • Windows TV client: Win (7/8 / 8.1 / 10) + Chrome.

Proven Results

Using ASP.NET MVC technology provides full access to the system via a web browser. Thanks to the Web (IIS) technology, it is possible to connect a scalable unlimited number of devices / clients, as well as:

9

managing the system via browser

9

displaying the content according to the time-table for the specific devices

9

the ability to schedule content to be displayed during the day, even several months earlier

9

preview of the displayed content

9

making changes in real time (e.g. in the event of an immediate need to announce an alarm)

9

automatic on and off of displays (e.g. night shift for energy saving and prolong screen life)

9

remote management and full control of displayed content

9

managing multiple screens simultaneously from one place

The Strategy

EBCC required a tool to effectively display content that would not only be visible to every employee in the production hall (where each employee spends most of his time), but could also be remotely managed and fully controlled (mainly in terms of displayed content) by the HR department.

After investigating the client’s needs Exence’s team designed, built and implemented a system to manage publication of HR content on industrial monitors in the EBCC S.A. production plant in Wroclaw.

The main system feature is to present content in various formats: MS Office files, images (JPEG / PNG / BMP), movies (YouTube and MPGE4) and text messages (plain-text).
